Dr. Gunther von Hagens respect for the human body began at the age of 6 when he was hospitalized, thought to be dying of a rare bleeding disease. As an anatomist he invented a process called plastination which is the very ground breaking technology for preserving anatomical specimens with the use of reactive polymers. As well as being a great teaching method, these specimens are now being seen world wide in exhibits called BODY WORLDS.
